“People ask me, ‘where is rock ‘n roll these days?’
I say Doomfoxx is rock ‘n’ roll.”
Tamara Conniff, Executive Editor Billboard Magazine USA. July 2005

The very words stated at the New York showcase presented by Billboard Magazine’s Executive Editor signifies what DOOMFOXX is all about: Pure Rock ‘n’ Roll.

From the pubs of inner Sydney to the world’s festival stages and European concert halls, Stuart McKie, Dave Thomas, Archi Read & Jase Burec, DOOMFOXX, are forging their name internationally. Former lead singer of The Darkness, Justin Hawkins says of DOOMFOXX “the best rock ‘n’ roll band going around” high praise for the Aussie rockers who opened for his band on their March – May European tour ‘06.

In 2005, DOOMFOXX ventured to Germany to tour with Aussie rock legends Rose Tattoo on a two month tour that was to herald the arrival of another great Aussie rock ‘n’ roll band. Comparisons to AC/DC and the Tatts were prominent, but with the enigmatic, supremely powerhouse vocals and stage presence of front-man Stuart McKie, DOOMFOXX in its own right was quickly carving out its own reputation. The European tour culminated in an unprecedented 5 performances at the prestige Wacken Open Air Festival, with a final night showcase in front of 60,000 fans saluting their new-found Aussie rock Gods.

Their self-titled debut album, produced by legendary Australian and ARIA award winner, Peter Blyton (Choirboys, Divynls, Australian Crawl) achieved both public and critical acclaim in its release in Europe in October 05, with influential and respected rock journalist, Jeurgen Tschamler calling it “…the rock album of the year. 12/12. Simply outstanding”.

2006 was followed up with an equally impressive tour opening for The Darkness and playing to 50,000 people in 9 shows across Europe to huge acclaim and only re-affirmed that DOOMFOXX was staking their claim.

The remainder of '06 DOOMFOXX continued to win audiences in Europe and the UK playing pubs and clubs and re-enforcing their live reputation and in mid 2007 the band returned to Australia to prepare writing and demoing songs to record their second album, again calling upon the production expertise of Peter Blyton.

The wave for DOOMFOXX continues to rise as the band have now completed their second album, “A Night On The Lash” which is highly anticipated and slated for European release in September this year on Pirate Girl Records through Soulfood Distribution.

DOOMFOXX have added a new member to the line up and joining the band, replacing former member Mick Cocks, is a hot young guitarist Woody Greenwood, who simply rips!

In July 2008, DOOMFOXX will tour the West Coast of the USA. The DOOMFOXX GIVIN’ IT TOUR, will be playing club gigs in LA, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. The highlight is a showcase performance with a VIP exclusive invite, presented by legendary DJ and LA music luminary Casper Star. This show will also be recorded live and filmed as part of a 24/7 fly-on-the-wall documentary being made on the band. A film crew will follow the rockers wherever they go in the US and it will make compelling viewing as DOOMFOXX live is something, DOOMFOXX on the road is quite something else!

Casper, who ‘discovered’ the band on a trip to Australia in April, where LA’s high priest of Rock ‘n’ Roll was spinning his discs, witnessed a powerhouse show by the band at the Civic Hotel and has become a devotee of DOOMFOXX and said “I heard some stuff and liked it and I knew they’d be good, but I didn’t know they would be that good!”. Casper has been spinning “Just Like America” in the Viper Room and getting an overwhelming response to this hook-laden, driving rocker.

In July 2008, DOOMFOXX will tour the West Coast of the USA playing club gigs in LA, Las Vegas, San Diego & San Francisco. The highlight is an industry showcase performance with a VIP exclusive invite, presented by the legendary Viper Room in Hollywood. CA. on Wednesday July 30.

Whatever you do this summer, don’t miss seeing DOOMFOXX live. You won’t be disappointed having a Night on The Lash with these boys.

Stuart McKie

Stuart McKie

Stu McKieStuart McKie, born in Kilmarnock, Scotland, emigrated to Perth, Western Australia at a young age, but holds his Scottish roots close to his heart. Singing in pubs and clubs, he was belting out tunes by the Faces and the Rolling Stones, his passion and power is undeniable, now with a reputation as one of the best front-men in the business.

Stuart hooked up with drummer Jase Burec in Sydney forming Circle and with ex-pat Sydney muso Dave Thomas in New York started another musical collaboration along with Burec creating the nucleus of Doomfoxx. Ask Stuart what Doomfoxx is like? With a cheeky smile he'll say, "It's like Formula One racing in the dark".

Dave Thomas

Dave Thomas

DaveDave Thomas, one of the twin-towers of rock, had been playing in several local bands before deciding to try his luck overseas and he met McKie in New York club named Scrap Bar.

An immediate bond was formed and Dave, originally from Brooklyn, not the New York borough, but a haven an hour north of Sydney on the Hawkesbury river estuary, was exposed to 60s soul music and rock ‘n’ roll and at 6’4’’ holds an impressive stature and plays a damn-fine Gretsch White Falcon, when not riffing away on a custom Les Paul.

Woody Greenwood

Woody Greenwood

WoodieThe newest member of this rocking quintet, Woody became aware that Doomfoxx were looking for new guitarist and made contact via Doomfoxx’s My Space site. An audition soon followed and when Woody walked into the rehearsal room and started playing the songs note perfect, the boys knew instinctively they had their man.

Woody had been playing with the Volts, an inner Sydney band and was well aware of Doomfoxx “I was a fan of the band” he said, “So it is an amazing opportunity to be part of it now”. Part of it he is and Woody wails away on his Firebird creating the twin guitar attack with Dave Thomas.

Archi Read

Archi Read

Archi Read Archi, from Sydney’s North Shore only picked up a bass guitar in his late teens and with some school friends he formed the glam rock band Hell City Glamours and quickly developed a solid live following and was soon the most talked about bass player around town.

The second half of the twin-towers of rock, Archi’s stature, both physical and musical is not to be denied. With Burec he completes what is a formidable rhythm section and his full-on attack and energetic live performance is testament to his passion and belief in what he does.

Jase Burec

Jase Burec

Jase BurecThe engine room controller, Jase hails from the outer suburbs of Sydney and all he wanted to do since he was 9 years old is play drums in a rock ‘n’ roll band. Quietly spoken, with a charming smile, it’s the thunder on the stage that defines Jase and sets up the driving platform for Doomfoxx.

Forming Circle with McKie, the close bond between the two, like brothers, is easily recognised and while the flamboyance of front-man McKie captures the eye, it’s the solid rock beat of Burec and his undeniable commitment to his craft that secures his status.
